Buongiorno Roma!

The group arrived nicely on time into Rome this morning & made great time through customs & passport control. So we were a little ahead of schedule as we traveled into 'the Eternal City'.
After a partial check-in at our hotel we headed out to explore the city, traveling by metro to the Colosseum & our nearby lunch restaurant where enjoyed traditional Italian pizza.
During the afternoon the group was introduced to some of the most important structures of Ancient Rome - mostly especially the Colossum. Our local guide was Stuart, an Englishman who dod a great job of brining the anicent times to life.
There was just time to return to the hotel to quickly freshen-up before it was time to head to dinner, at a 'bruschetteria' that specializes in a variety of bruchettas!
Dinner was a huge feast of bruschetta, followed by 3 types of pasta, & finished off with gelato from a neighboring gelateria.
We finished our day with a visit to the beautiful & romantic Trevi Fountain before riding the metro back to our hotel after a long, tiring, but great first day!
